The Genesis HE Heritage Edition Tube Microphone from MXL is a vocal microphone that has a cardioid polar pattern, vintage Mullard 12AT7 tube, and switches for both bass roll-off and a -10 dB pad. It can be used to capture audio for vocals and instruments in various environments such as live stage, rehearsals, professional recording studios, and more.
The mic's bass roll-off is set to 6 dB per octave at 150 Hz to reduce proximity effect if required. The -10 dB pad reduces possible overloading of the microphone's internal circuitry at high SPLs. The Genesis HE uses a dedicated power supply that is switchable between 115 and 230 VAC and includes all connecting cables. In addition, a 15' XLR mic cable, a 7-pin XLR cable, a shockmount, a metal mesh pop filter, and an aluminum flight case with a microfiber cleaning cloth are included.
